Large eBike Capacity Battery

We keep you riding

The making and braking of any electric vehicle is its range so you want a ebike that delivers a range long enough for your rides at the power levels you want.

Stored inside a lockable compartment in the upper front the frame your Trefecta is powered by a 60-volt lithium-ion battery-pack. Providing enough power for up to 62 miles (100 km) of range without any pedaling and up to 124 miles (200 km) with assisted pedaling (depending on the model selected). Opening up whole new areas to explore which were previously inaccessible.

The powerful motor in combination with the high-capacity battery will help you overcome even the steepest hills and you’ll enjoy the perfect off-road ride or an easy commute in the city.

Specifically designed for the demanding military and police environment the Trefecta Battery Pack allows a quick and repeated removal from the bike for external charging. The battery charges in about three hours when plugged in to 100%, and with the Trefecta DRT/URB a regenerative braking system adds some charging on the move.

The Battery Pack is equipped with 140 x 18650 high quality cells individually protected by BMS CE/UN certified for transport via airfreight. This unique feature was reaffirmed by Porsche Formula E when they required battery packs to power their brake cooling fans during pitstops. We were the only company in the world able to offer them a turnkey solution ready for airfreight!

Naturally the large number of cells and their specific output in combination with the TQ 120 mid-drive motor guarantees long range even at the highest support setting.

How do you plan to use your Trefecta eBike? We are exited to offer you our help in selecting and tailoring the right solution for your personal eBike requirements. Please check out our current model range and contact us directly. While looking forward to hearing from you we thank you for your interest in the Trefecta family of special purpose eBikes.

US regulation change eBike

Electric (mountain)bikes permitted on cycling routes in the USA

A recent change in ruling on electric bikes in the USA by the Department of Interior increases recreational opportunities through the use of electric bikes.

This new US regulation change eBike more clearly defines electric bicycles and no longer describes them as motor vehicles. This gives local land managers the authority to to regulate e-bikes the same as traditional bikes on non-motorized trails. This new rule applies to federal public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service and Bureau of Reclamation.

In general:

  • Electric bicycles are no longer defined as motor vehicles or off-road vehicles, but are properly defined within three classes.
  • Electric bicycle riders have similar rights, privileges and duties as traditional bicycle riders.
  • Local land managers can authorize some or all classes of electric bicycles on roads, paths and trails where bicycles are allowed.
  • Local land managers maintain significant control, in partnership with the public, to make access decisions.

The new ruling makes more roads and paths accessible and the opportunity to experience a challenging road or trail has become accessible to a larger target group.

Trefecta welcomes the US regulation change eBike of the U.S. Department of Interior making a major change to the regulations governing the use of electric bicycles by no longer classifying eBikes as motor vehicles and putting them on a par with regular bicycles. This beter defines their use on public land and allows local land managers the authority to permit their use on non-motorized trails!

This naturally supports the multi purpose nature of our Trefecta family of eBikes, allowing you to easily commute to work during the week, while having the power, range and all terrain capability and durability to tackle the rough stuff during the weekend.

How do you plan to use your Trefecta eBike? We are exited to offer you our help in selecting and tailoring the right solution for your personal eBike requirements. Please check out our current model range and contact us directly for any questions. While looking forward to hearing from you we thank you for your interest in the Trefecta family of special purpose eBikes.”

Trefecta – Mark Blundell

A positive review of the Trefecta DRT from Mark Blundell, former F1 driver and winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Someone who experienced technology and performance at the highest level. That means a lot!

For more than three decades Mark Blundell has honed his expertise in the upper echelons of elite global sport, firstly in a professional sporting career, then TV pundit and in more recent years, as a successful businessman.

Mark enjoyed a distinguished career at the very top of the sport. 61 starts in Formula One brought multiple podium finishes whilst racing for the likes of McLaren, Brabham, Ligier and Tyrrell across a golden era for the sport. Alongside his Formula One duties, Mark enjoyed immense sportscar success most notably taking a memorable pole position at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1990 before taking the outright victory in 1992.

Trefecta starring in Westworld

Are You A True Fan Of Westworld? So are we! We are very proud that our Trefecta’s play a role in the highly urbanized future world and are looking forward to all the episodes of this season.

Westworld is an American science fiction Western television series created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. Produced by HBO, it is based on the 1973 film of the same name (written and directed by Michael Crichton) and, to a lesser extent, the film’s 1976 sequel Futureworld. The story takes place in Westworld, a fictional, technologically advanced Wild-West-themed amusement park populated by android “hosts”. The park caters to high-paying “guests” who may indulge their wildest fantasies within the park without fear of retaliation from the hosts, who are prevented by their programming from harming humans.

The third season takes place immediately after events of the second season, with Dolores having escaped Westworld along with the cores of a few hosts, including Bernard’s. Taking residence in neo-Los Angeles in 2058, Dolores develops a relationship with Caleb, and comes to learn how artificial beings and lower-class humans are treated in the real world. Meanwhile, Maeve finds herself in another part of the Delos park, one based on Fascist Italy during World War II.

Trefecta, the ideal eMTB for hunting

Are you looking for an easier way to get to your blind or tree stand? Or check your trail cams and animal tracks? Or get to your hard to reach sweet spot? Trefecta offers the best solution our bikes are made to fit the needs of hunters in all terrain types.

An eBike built specifically for hunting can make a big difference to the success of your trip. And a lot safer, with the Trefecta you can still travel even without pedaling, for example in case of an injury, just use the throttle to get you home safe. The advantages of using an electric hunting bike are more than just riding uphill easier.

Originally developed with the specific demands of professional military users in mind, bringing the special forces scouts to their posts close to enemy lines quickly and as stealthy as possible without overly exerting the rider, as such the Trefecta DRT might be the ideal addition to your hunting gear.

The advantages

eBike’s are much faster than walking in and out of your hunting area. With a Trefecta there’s no need to strap everything to your back and go back to your campsite or car. With a cargo rack on the front and or back as well as with the optional trailer, you can throw your gear on your bike and get going, giving you ample time to pursue your favorite pastime.

On your Trefecta you are very much more stealthy and nearly undetectable compared to an ATV. Animals’ work of their senses and loud noises and smells will scare off game. The electric motor doesn’t sound as loud or make the amount of vibration as gas engines do, not mentioning the smell of exhaust gas it produces. So you’re looking at a better chance of getting your kill faster and more efficiently with an e-bike.

Is the Trefecta DRT just an eMTB?

No it’s not just an eMTB with a rugged design and camouflage print. The Trefecta is powerful enough for carrying up to 353 lb (160 kg) of rider, gear and hopefully your prey, providing enough torque to get you motoring up a 45 percent incline, and offering a 31,000-mile (50,000-km) lifespan. The bike can also fold down into an available transport case, another military stipulation.

Designed to ensure that the powerful eBike holds up under extreme conditions is possible, due to the use of high-end, durable materials like 7075 aerospace grade aluminum. The frame also protects the internal cables and components. For the wheels we capitalize on the weight and strength advantages of carbon fiber, using a six-spoke, 26-in design.

In terms of its electric drive, the Trefecta DRT packs a 4-kW motor, a 14-speed Rohlof Speedhub and a SmeshGear transmission. At low speeds, motor output is managed by a pedelec system aimed at maintaining an ideal blend of pedal assistance and battery usage. You won’t necessarily want to be pedaling when going for the top speed of 43.5 mph (70 km/h), so there’s also a right-handlebar throttle for cranking up motor power alone. The motor can send up to 184 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque to the rear wheel.

Although in the world of hunting bikes speed is not an absolute imperative as most of the time you will ride the bike on rough off-road terrains that won’t allow you to safely reach the higher speed, it’s always good to have enough power to quickly close the distance between you and your prey.

You are able to control ride mode and other settings by using the buttons at the handlebars for example selecting automatic gear shifting or electronic gear selection and to control the settings of both the suspension fork and the rear shock.

The Trefecta is powered by a 60-volt lithium-ion battery-pack stored inside a lockable compartment in the upper front the frame. Providing enough power for up to 62 miles (100 km) of range without any pedaling. The battery charges in about three hours when plugged in, and a regenerative braking system adds some charging on the move.

Other DRT components include a big upside-down fork with up to 180 mm (7 in) of travel, a dropper seat post with up to 125 mm (4.9 in) of travel, Ergon grips and saddle, Schwalbe mountain bike tires and Hope disc brakes. The rear shock offers up to 200 mm (7.8 in) of travel.

A powerful alternative, the Trefecta RDR

Looking for a more affordable version of our flagship the DRT? The Trefecta RDR also has been designed to have the capability of tackling almost any terrain thanks to sophisticated suspension, a powerful motor with an unusually large battery and the ability to carry heavy loads. But rather than the insane 4Kw powertrain fitted to the DRT, the new bike uses a 920w mid-drive motor. Whichever power output you choose there is still a 120Nm of torque available. The frame is made of high-pressure injection-molded aluminum with a welded aluminum TQ 120s rear powertrain with Gates CarbonDrive and a step less Enviolo IGH.

Hunting and the Trefecta eMTB’s: a perfect match

Whether you are following a trail, silently want to check hunting cameras on the trail and access areas farther than you’d walk to, you need something to help you to quickly traverse rough and difficult terrain. With the Trefecta you get all this coupled with a powerful motor, incredible range, and the ability to haul your kill back to your truck. An offer no serious hunter can say no to.
